Souris Trail Riders
We’re excited to announce and welcome CLUB # 9 to the PEI ATV Federation, the Souris Trail Riders! Voted in by the Federation on Thursday, October 21st.
This club was formed just this spring at the request of locals who were interested in having a club in the area. After initial meetings it was decided they would go forward with plans to become a legal club under the PEI ATV Federation. And we’re so excited they did!
Initial interest saw 20 members and in such a short period of time club membership has grown to over 60! The club is steadily growing and they anticipate an increase in membership as legal trails become active.
This club can be found on Facebook and their group page is Souris TrailRiders. Go follow them. This is the spot to stay informed on club information, trail progress, volunteer opportunities, and so much more as this club grows.
If you’re located in the Souris area and are interested in becoming a club member, reach out to them via email. Memberships are $25 and e-transfer payment can be submitted to Members under 16 are free. Club membership is an integral part of funding so please show your support.
Since this is a brand spanking new club they are going to need volunteers. We all know how crucial volunteers are to club growth and trail development. The Souris Trail Riders expect to do lots of trail work in the near future. Whether it’s running a chainsaw or contacting landowners, there will be ample opportunities to volunteer. Volunteers get work done. Which means this club’s goal of legal trails can become a faster reality. For volunteer opportunities, reach out to them on Facebook or send them an email.
The Souris Trail Riders biggest goal for 2021 was to become a member club of the PEI ATV Federation and they’ve accomplished that! Taking the steps necessary to be voted in has been a great victory for this group. Although having active legal trails this year is not realistic, they are looking forward to the gains they’ll make in 2022.
With that being said, the newest club of the PEI ATV Federation says it’s been quite a journey starting a new club from scratch. They’re already thankful for the support and guidance from the Federation and member clubs. They look forward to creating a safe space for ATVing in the Souris area. With the unique and varying terrain, we’re anticipating some amazing trails.
We invite you to join us in welcoming the Souris Trail Riders Club # 9 to the PEI ATV Federation. We look forward to all the new adventures.
