View Trails
The North Shore Riders is a non-profit ATV club dedicated to establishing and maintaining a scenic trail system along the iconic north shore of Prince Edward Island. Serving communities in the central part of Queens County, this club is one of the newest members of the PEI ATV Federation, driven by a passionate group of volunteers working to create new riding opportunities in the region.
Trail System
The club is actively developing a trail network that aims to showcase the stunning landscapes of PEI’s north shore, famous for its beaches, dunes, and picturesque countryside. As a new club, their primary focus is on securing land-use permissions, clearing new trails, building necessary infrastructure, such as bridges, and ensuring all routes are safely marked.
Their long-term vision is to create a robust trail system that not only provides excellent local riding but also connects to the networks of neighbouring clubs, contributing to the ultimate goal of a fully interconnected, island-wide ATV trail.
Community and Activities
The North Shore Riders are building a strong, community-focused membership from the ground up. Their activities are centred on the foundational work required to establish a successful club and trail system. Key activities include:
- Fundraising Initiatives: As a new organization, raising funds is crucial for purchasing the necessary tools, materials, and signage for bridges, as well as covering operational costs.
- Volunteer Trail-Building Days: The club relies heavily on member volunteers for the hands-on work of clearing and developing the trails.
- Community Outreach: Engaging with local landowners and communities is a vital part of their effort to secure trail access and build positive relationships.
Membership and Permits
To ride on the trails managed by the North Shore Riders, a valid PEI ATV Federation trail pass is required. By selecting the North Shore Riders as your designated club when purchasing a pass, you provide essential start-up funding that goes directly toward their trail-building efforts. Supporting the club in its early stages is critical for its success and the expansion of riding opportunities in the area.
