The Souris Trail Riders ATV Club is a non-profit organization dedicated to fostering the sport of ATV riding and maintaining a safe, extensive trail system in the beautiful easternmost region of Prince Edward Island, encompassing Souris and the surrounding communities. Established in 2021, the club quickly became an integral part of the PEI ATV Federation, driven by a passionate group of volunteers.

Trail System

The club boasts a growing network of trails that highlight the unique charm of Eastern PEI. Riders can expect a diverse range of terrain, from coastal views to inland forest paths. The Souris Trail Riders are dedicated to expanding and maintaining these trails, ensuring they are well-marked and safe for riders of all skill levels. Their efforts significantly contribute to the province’s goal of establishing an interconnected, island-wide ATV trail system.

Community and Activities

Despite being a relatively new club, the Souris Trail Riders have built a vibrant and active community. They are known for their enthusiastic approach to organizing events that bring members together and support the club’s mission. Activities often include:

  • Group Rides: Regular outings that allow members to explore the scenic trails in a social setting.
  • Poker Runs and Fundraisers: Events designed to generate funds for trail development, maintenance equipment, and club operations, often drawing participation from across the island.
  • Volunteer Trail Workdays: Members dedicate their time to hands-on trail maintenance, including clearing, signing, and improving the riding experience.

The club emphasizes responsible riding and encourages a strong sense of camaraderie among its members.

Membership and Permits

To ride on the trails maintained by the Souris Trail Riders ATV Club, a valid PEI ATV Federation trail pass is mandatory. When purchasing a permit, riders have the option to designate the Souris Trail Riders as their club of choice, ensuring that a portion of the fee directly supports their local trail development and maintenance efforts.
