The Red Isle ATV Club is a four-season riding club that serves ATV enthusiasts in the greater Charlottetown area of Prince Edward Island. As one of the nine active clubs under the PEI ATV Federation, it plays a vital role in maintaining and expanding the province’s growing trail network.
Trail System
The club’s trail system currently spans from the Winsloe-Oysterbed area to Friston. Volunteers from the club dedicate their time to building and maintaining these trails, ensuring they are safe and enjoyable for all riders. Trail maps are available on the RidePEI website and through their dedicated app, which is recommended for navigating the system.
Club Leadership and Community
A dedicated volunteer executive team leads the Red Isle ATV Club:
- President: Chris Paynter
- Vice President: Steve Robinson
- Treasurer: Elaine Waddell
- Secretary: Kim Meunier
While the club does not have a physical clubhouse like some of the other PEI ATV clubs, it fosters a strong sense of community through its social media presence and organized events. The club’s primary hub for communication and updates is its Facebook page, “Red Isle ATV Club #3”. Members and interested riders are encouraged to join this page to stay informed about the latest news, trail conditions, group runs, and club meetings.
Membership and Permits
To ride on the Red Isle ATV Club trails, a PEI ATV Federation trail pass is required. This pass provides access to all managed ATV trails across Prince Edward Island. Purchasing a pass supports the local club of your choice, with a portion of the fee going directly to that club for trail maintenance, signage, and bridge construction. The remainder of the fee contributes to the Federation’s $5,000,000 insurance policy, which covers the property of the landowners through which the trail system runs. Information on purchasing and renewing trail passes can be found on the RidePEI website.
