The Evangeline ATV Club, situated in the heart of Prince Edward Island’s Acadian region, offers a vibrant community and an extensive trail system for ATV enthusiasts. The club plays a key role in the island’s off-roading network, offering scenic rides through the landscapes of Prince County.
Trails and Riding
The club maintains a significant trail system, with sources indicating between 80 and over 100 kilometres of trails. While traditionally known for its excellent winter trail system, the club now operates as a four-season riding club. Riders can expect to traverse beautiful island scenery, including dense hardwood forests. For navigation, trail maps are available on the RidePEI website and through their app.
Clubhouse and Location
The club’s headquarters is located at 1007 Cannontown Road in Mont Carmel, near Wellington. The clubhouse serves as a central hub for members and guests, featuring a kitchen area for potlucks and get-togethers, a cozy wood stove for warmth, and a compostable toilet. It’s a welcoming spot for riders to gather before or after hitting the trails.
Activities and Community
The Evangeline ATV Club is more than just trails; it’s a community-focused organization. Members participate in a variety of club-sponsored activities throughout the year. These events include:
- Fundraisers: The club holds events to raise money for both club operations and to support the local community.
- Club Runs: Guided group rides are a popular activity, offering an excellent way for newcomers to explore the trail system and for members to socialize with one another. Events like Poker Runs and Scavenger Hunts are often part of the fun.
- Social Gatherings: The clubhouse hosts potlucks and live music nights, fostering a strong sense of community among members.
New members and guests are always welcome. The club encourages riders to join their organized runs to discover the best scenic spots, guided by experienced trail guides.
Membership and Permits
To ride the trails maintained by the Evangeline ATV Club, a PEI ATV Federation trail pass is required. This pass provides access not only to the Evangeline trails but to the entire provincial network. Information on purchasing or renewing these permits can be found on the RidePEI website. The club also has a Facebook page, “Evangeline ATV Club,” where members and interested riders can find the latest updates on activities, trail conditions, and club meetings.
